At the BAC there are two forms of 3D Printing here on campus:
3-DIY
(3-Do it Yourself): This method is for the students who seek to an independent understanding of the accessible 3D Printer on campus
Students will start and monitor their own 3D Prints. You will be responsible for ensuring that your model does not fail and potentially damage the printer. Generally the model will fail within the first few layers or later if there are issues with model geometry.
Rule/Instructions:
- The 3D printer outside is the Zortrax M200.
- We use Z-Suite as the slicer/software.
- 3-DIY is free!!!!
- Please limit print jobs to under 10 hours to ensure others also have access to the printers, but it is first come first serve.
- Turn on both power buttons for the filter and printer both located on the left hand side
- The SD card is located near the front door of the 3D printer. Press it in gently; it will click and pop out for easy removal.
- Please handle the SD card gently when removing and re-inserting it.

CoDER
If printing with us, the CoDER office will handle most aspects of printing guaranteed your model if structurally sound.
Students will prepare a model and submit to us via Print Submission Form or uploading to the network drive folder (accessible on campus/cloud-lab)
- Please note within the form it mentions “due date” and “model color”. The more complex the model appears possibly more time is needed to print and troubleshoot that so give yourself at-least 1 – 2 weeks to finish a project
This method requires payment and is priced on model weight (grams) x 0.10 cents. As we will examine your model and provide feedback if changes are necessary like bad geometry, incompatibility with our machines or simple adjustments like re-submitting your model to be separate parts so we can orientate it better on the bed.
We’ll attempt to print different three times and if it fails each time we’ll consult the designer about the next best steps to take with the model.
