Do I need to adjust my model scale or can I split in pieces so it fits in the printer?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"line-height:1.6\">All 3D Printers have a maximum bed size we should try to design for, the <a href=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/index.php\/printers-2\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1213\">&#8220;Printers&#8221;<\/a> page contains all info about the sizes of beds\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the size cannot be reduced please split the model into parts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1874\" height=\"1500\" data-id=\"1258\" src=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bed1.jpg\" alt=\"Zortrax M200 Bed. 7.5x7.5.7.5mm\" class=\"wp-image-1258\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Zortrax M200 &#8211; 7.5&#215;7.5&#215;7.5mm<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1874\" height=\"1500\" data-id=\"1259\" src=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bed2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1259\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Bambu P1s &#8211; 256x256x256mm<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1874\" height=\"1500\" data-id=\"1260\" src=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bed3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1260\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Ultimaker S3 230x190x200mm<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Keep in mind that you should <strong>NEVER <\/strong>use the full size of the bed there should always be some space left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tiny details<\/strong> will not be shown accurately so instead show an impression of what you&#8217;re trying to convey\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Example: Instead of having a stairway and each individual step have engravings with fancy railings; keep it simple instead, show the stairs and the steps that will show the general idea, any complicated portions will require more preparation and planning from the student to receive a successful print.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;Water-tight&#8221; models are preferred; It&#8217;s okay if you have openings from windows and doors but It has to be intentional (min <strong>0.4mm <\/strong>thickness for walls)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Openings depending on the strength or angle of the piece will generate supports in order help print complex geometry or steep overhangs; Like a support beam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Artboard-1-50-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1270\" style=\"width:1178px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>(Left) <\/strong>Model has openings and can print as-is but keep it mind the wall\/doorway thickness is at-least 0.4mm <br>(<strong>Right<\/strong>) The green within the model represents overhang\/openings that require additional filament to support itself.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The importance of <strong>orientation <\/strong>and <strong>structure<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Based on shapes the model is comprised of; Placing the model either vertically or horizontally helps receive a visually cleaner model, improves print speed and reduces material waste and most importantly avoids potential failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"775\" src=\"https:\/\/coder.the-bac.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Artboard-1-75.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1279\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you printing a tower? Bridge? Winding Staircase?
