THINGS TO KNOW!

WHO:
Any student, faculty, or staff at The BAC can use the Laser Cutters.

There are three main prerequisites:
1) Enroll and complete (there are TWO QUIZZES) in the Online Laser Cutter Training Course. EMAIL CODER@the-bac.edu (from your BAC email account) to be enrolled

2) Attend a safety and use orientation prior to making an appointment. Orientations happen almost every Saturday at 12:00pm, noon, in the Laser Lab.

3) KNOW how to draft and print from AutoCAD or Rhino.

WHAT:
The Laser Cutters are for rapid and accurate scoring and cutting of thin materials – such as chipboard, cardboard, museum board, basswood, and acrylic.

There are restricted materials, sizes and thicknesses. Please see Laser Cutter Manual for additional information.

WHEN:
Laser Cutters are available during all open hours of the 320 Newbury Street building. Those hours are posted on the main BAC website here.

Appointments are available in 2-hour increments – one per person per day. They start at 8:30am on weekdays, and 8:00am on weekends.

WHERE:
The Laser Cutters are in the Laser Lab on the 4th Floor of 320 Newbury Street.

HOW MUCH:
Use of the laser cutters is free! You do need to supply your own approved materials. See the Laser Cutter Manual for the approved materials list.
